Thomas J. Arckey is a founding partner of Arckey & Reha, LLC. Tom's practice focuses on employment law and civil and commercial litigation. He has 23 years experience counseling and litigating these matters for individuals and businesses. His employment law practice includes working with individuals and businesses on issues of employment discrimination based on sex, race, religion, age or disability under federal statutes including Title VII, the ADA, the ADEA, FMLA, and the Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act. He also handles wage disputes, arising under the Colorado Wage Act and FLSA and concerning unpaid wages and overtime requirements. He also deals with matters related to unfair competition, including non-compete agreements and trade secrets. In civil and commercial matters, Tom represents clients in litigation and negotiations involving various contracts and lease agreements. Tom is an experienced litigator, having tried cases to verdict in federal and state courts. He is admitted to practice in the state of Colorado, the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and the United States District Court for the District of Colorado.
Tom is a recognized authority in these areas, and was recognized as a Super Lawyer by Colorado Super Lawyers magazine in 2006, 2007 and 2008. He also received the Editorial Excellence Award by Trial Talk magazine in 2005. He also served as the Employment Law Editor of Trial Talk in 2003. He has authored many articles on employment law issues and in 2000-2004 he was the Co-Author and Instructor of "Trade Secrecy and Non-Competition Covenants in Colorado" for NBI Seminars.
Tom has received an "AV" rating from his professional colleagues, which notes both the highest level of competence and ethics in the practice of law.
Tom obtained his bachelor's degree from Florida State University in 1981. He obtained his J.D. from the University of Denver, College of Law in 1984. Tom and his family live in Littleton, Colorado. He is an avid sports fan, and loves the Rockies. He enjoys his time hiking, fly fishing and playing racquetball. Tom is active in the community and pro bono work, including service on the City of Littleton Board of Adjustment since 2002.
